Young Acorns ("we", "us") is an Ofsted-registered childcare provider based at Sandale Community Centre, Bradford, BD6 2RB. We are the "Data Controller" for the personal information you provide.

2. Information We Collect

To provide safe and reliable childcare, we collect the following:

  • Parent/Guardian Details: Name, address, phone number, email, and emergency contact details.
  • Child Details: Name, date of birth, school attended (e.g., Woodside Academy, St Winefride's), and attendance records.
  • Sensitive Information: Medical details, dietary requirements (allergies), and doctor’s contact info to ensure child safety during our "Brain Boost" snack times and activities.
  • Digital Info: If you visit our website or join our waiting list online.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use this information to:

  • Operational Safety: Ensure we pick up the correct child from their feeder school and provide appropriate care.
  • Communication: Contact you regarding booking confirmations, invoices, or urgent updates (e.g., via WhatsApp or email).
  • Safeguarding: Fulfill our legal obligations to Ofsted and Bradford Council.

4. Photography & Marketing

We love sharing the fun of our "Activity Zones" (like the Creator's Corner). However:

  • We will never publish photographs of your child on social media, our website, or marketing materials without your explicit written consent.
  • You can withdraw this consent at any time.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your data. We only share information when legally required or necessary for care, such as with:

All physical records are stored in locked facilities at our premises, and digital records are password-protected. We retain records only as long as required by UK law and Ofsted guidelines (usually until the child reaches age 21 for safeguarding records).

Under UK law, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct any inaccuracies.
  • Request deletion of your data (where not overridden by our legal safeguarding obligations).
